The Avocado Tester determines the ripeness of each fruit in just a few seconds. Designed as a practical solution to reduce food waste, it provides accurate, real-time information, delivering tangible benefits to both retailers and consumers.
Technology
The tester uses artificial intelligence (AI) and infrared spectrographic analysis to estimate the shelf-life of fresh avocados with approximately one-day accuracy. The method is non-destructive and can also be applied to other fruits such as tomatoes, strawberries, and blueberries.
How it Works
Provides a score and category for each fruit's ripeness: “Ready to Eat,” “Firm,” “Critical,” “Good for Guacamole,” or intermediate stages.
Display colors and names can be customized.
Daily test counts and detected ripeness levels can be monitored via the online platform.
Future updates will support additional fruits such as mango, kiwi, and watermelon, adding significant value for stores.
